Abstract (EN)

This study, aimed to adapt Career Thoughts Inventory to the field. It also aimed to investigate and compare the thoughts of high school students taking into consideration a set of certain variables. The sample of the first study consists of a group of randomly chosen 558 students, and the sample of the second study consists of a group of randomly chosen 516 students. In the study, ?Career Thoughts Inventory?, ?Self Directed Search? and ?Personal Data Form? were used. To statistically analyze the given data, variance analysis, a t and f test were applied. While, according to the personality types, gender, high school types, the education level of the parents, number of students? sisters and brothers, likes or dislikes for mathematic and studio lessons, liking and being successful in science lessons, the success of Turkish lessons, the success of foreign language lessons there appeared to be a significant difference between career thoughts scores, no meaningful difference was found between students? career thoughts according to the students and their parents living together or separated, whether or not their mothers hold jobs, likes or dislikes for Turkish, foreign language, social studies, art and gym lessons, success of mathematics, social studies, art, gym and studio lessons and liking of Turkish, foreign language, social studies, art and gym lessons.
