Abstract (EN)

Career is the work of individuals throughout their lives and their progress in these jobs. Anxiety is a state of anxiety and fear for the future. Career anxiety, on the other hand, is the uncertainty, anxiety and fear of the individual towards his / her career. As individuals spend most of their lives working, making a career plan is an important fact for individuals. The high school years are the most critical period which is the first step of the career plans, The importance of these years can put pressure on students. In addition, the influence of the family on profession choice, and the uncertainties the student has in the choice of profession can cause him to have career anxiety. With this research, it is aimed to analyse, according to socio-demographic variables, the career anxieties of the 11th and 12th grade students studying at vocational and private Anatolian high schools, about family influence and profession choice. The research consists of three main sections. These are; the first and second parts which are the theoretical part and the third part which is the practice part. The universe of this research is 11th and 12th grade students who continue their education in vocational and private Anatolian high schools in Antalya province in the 2018-2019 academic year. The sample group is 990 students selected among these students. In the study, a career anxiety scale was used to determine the students' career concerns by using survey technique, and a personal information form was used for demographic variables. The obtained data were analyzed and interpreted by using SPSS 25.0 program. The percentages and frequencies of the demographic variables were determined. An analysis was made to determine whether the career anxieties of the students related to the family effect and the choice of profession varied according to the demographic variables, and the relationship between the concern for the choice of profession and the anxiety related to family effect was examined. Descriptive statistical methods, t test, Anova and correlation analysis were used in the analysis of the findings. According to the findings of the study, it was determined that the career concerns of the students for the choice of profession differed significantly according to the school type, gender, and the attitude of the parents towards the child. It was also observed that the career concerns of the students related to the family effect showed a significant difference according to the mother education level, the family income level and the attitude of the parents towards the child. There was a positive relationship between the career anxiety related to career choice and the career anxiety related to family effect. According to the findings, the general career anxiety, and the career anxiety related to the family effect of the 11th and 12th grade high school students were found to be low, and their career anxiety about profession choice were found to be moderate.
