Abstract (EN)

The method of descriptive scanning was used as the research method in this study in which the problematic mobile phone usage of high school students and their subjective well being was examined. The population of the research consisted of teenagers attending schools anda using mobile phones in Istanbul. And the sample of the research was consisted of 205 high school students, using mobile phones, that were reached by random selection. Survey method was used as the data collection method. Two scales were used for this purpose. These are the scale of smart phone usage level and the subjective well being scale. The data obtained from the scales was analyzed with the SPSS 20 program. As a result ot the research, a negative relation was determined between the increase of the level of mobile phone usage and the subjective well being. In other words, the subjective well being decreases as the level of mobile phone usage increases. Also, it was determined that the maIes and the 3. class students uses mobile phones more.
