A research on the determination of high school students' interest in agricultural projects

The food need for the continuation of humanity has been provided from agriculture from past to present. Having been emerged as a source of nutrition and livelihood in the history of humanity, agriculture has become a sector where more efficient production is obtained with the advancement of technology and science today. Agriculture has always been important for the economies, employment areas and per capita income calculations of the countries. Türkiye is a country suitable for agriculture due to its geography. Although the number of people dealing with agriculture decreased with the development of other economic areas, food is the most basic need for people and agriculture always has to be important, as also seen in the epidemic process. In this study, it is aimed to reveal; the attitudes and interests of the high school students who conduct projects in many fields, about the level of their awareness of producing projects in agricultural areas, how much they are aware of this field and the problems in the field, and how to produce projects related to agriculture by using technology of both today and future. In line with the questionnaire applied to 496 students in relation to this goal, it has been determined that gender has an effect on the answers given by the student. It has been seen that the places where the students and their families live have no effect on the answers given by the students. It has been determined that the educational status of the student's parents has an impact on the student's answers. It is thought that the element of having an agricultural asset in the family does not affect the answers given by the students much. It is believed that expanding the research and conducting it in more schools can create a resource for studies related to the concentration of student interests on agriculture, as well as provide foresight in shaping agricultural education.
