Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of this study is to reveal the lifelong learning tendencies and educational social media acceptance levels of high school students and to examine the relationship between them. At the same time, it was investigated whether some demographic variables (gender, school type, grade level, mother's education level, father's education level, family income status) have an effect on students' lifelong learning tendencies and social media acceptance for educational purposes. This research was carried out using the relational survey model, which is one of the quantitative research types. The universe of the research consists of 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade high school students studying in three different school types in the 2021-2022 academic year in Uşak. The sample of the research consists of 783 students who were determined by the convenient sampling method and participated in the research voluntarily. "Personal Information Form" prepared by the researcher, "YouTube Acceptance for Educational Purposes" scale developed by Kılıç and Yılmaz (2021) and "Lifelong Learning Tendency Scale" developed by Diker-Coşkun (2009) were used as data collection tools in the research. . In order to determine whether students' lifelong learning tendencies and YouTube acceptance for educational purposes differ significantly according to gender, school type, grade level, mother's education level, father's education level and family income level, t-test for independent groups in bivariate data, more than two. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was applied to the data with one variable. Tukey, one of the post-hoc tests, was preferred to determine the differences between paired groups after a single linkage analysis of variance.Correlation technique was used to examine the relationship between variables. In addition, frequency, percentage, standard deviation and mean descriptive statistics were used. The data were analyzed and interpreted using statistical techniques with the help of SPSS 22.0. According to the findings obtained as a result of the research, there is a negative and low-level significant relationship between students' lifelong learning tendencies (ybö) and their YouTube acceptance for educational purposes. It was determined that while the students' scholastic tendencies differed significantly in terms of gender and school type variables, they did not differ significantly in terms of grade level, mother's education level, father's education level and family income level. On the other hand, it was determined that the educational YouTube acceptances of the students differed statistically significantly according to the school type and grade level variables, whereas the variables of gender, mother's education level, father's education level and family income level did not significantly affect students' educational YouTube acceptances.
