Abstract (EN)
This research was implemented to determine the relationship between the professional burnout levels and perceptions of organizational commitment of high school teachers working in the Salihli district of Manisa province. The survey model was used in this research, which was conducted with the quantitative research model. Research data was collected through "Personal Information Form", "Occupational Burnout Scale" and "Organizational Commitment Scale" which were applied to 440 official high school teachers serving to Salihli District National Education Directorate, and the obtained data was transferred to the SPSS program and frequency, percentage analysis, T-test, ANOVA test, correlation and regression analysis were performed. According to research results, it was discovered that the emotional exhaustion and depersonalization levels of high school teachers were low, and their perceptions of personal accomplishment level were moderate. When the burnout levels of high school teachers were evaluated in terms of gender, branch, education level, marital status, number of children, and seniority, it was seen that there was no significant difference. In terms of school type, it was determined that the emotional exhaustion levels of teachers working in Vocational High Schools (VHS) were higher than teachers working in Religious Vocational High School (RVHS) and Anatolian High Schools (AHS)/ Social Science High Schools (SSHS). Teachers with chronic illness experience higher levels of emotional exhaustion than teachers without chronic illness. It was made out that teachers' continuance commitment and normative commitment perceptions and general organizational commitment perceptions were at the level of neutral while their perceptions of affective commitment were at the level of agree. When the organizational commitment perceptions of high school teachers were evaluated in terms of marital status, branch, seniority, participation in projects or training, and chronic disease variables, no significant difference was found. In terms of gender variable, male high school teachers have a higher perception of affective commitment than female high school teachers. High school teachers with 2 children have a higher perception of continuance commitment than teachers who do not have children and have 1 child. Associate/Bachelor's-degree graduate high school teachers have higher levels of continuance and normative commitment perceptions than master's and doctorate-degree graduate high school teachers. Teachers working in Religious Vocational High School (RVHS) and Anatolian High Schools (AHS)/ Social Science High Schools (SSHS) have higher perceptions of affective and normative commitment than teachers working in Vocational High Schools (VHS). High school teachers working in the same school for 11 years or more have a higher level of continuance commitment than teachers working between 0-5 years and 6-10 years. It was found that there is a moderately inverse relationship between the emotional exhaustion levels of high school teachers and their perception of general organizational commitment. It was discovered that there is a low-level inverse relationship between the level of depersonalization of high school teachers and the perception of general organizational commitment. It was concluded that there is a low-level relationship between the personal accomplishment level of high school teachers and their general organizational commitment perceptions. It was found out that the emotional exhaustion levels of high school teachers affected the organizational commitment variable statistically, but negatively. It was determined that the personal accomplishment variable affected the organizational commitment variable statistically and positively. The depersonalization variable did not have a significant effect on organizational commitment variable. As a result, it might be stated that 12% of the change in the organizational commitment variable is owing to the changes in the variables of emotional exhaustion and personal accomplishment.
