Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to find out whether there is relation between schoolgovernors? cultural leadership roles and teachers? satisfaction. The realization levels of schoolgovernors? cultural leadership roles and teachers? satisfaction have been investigated in termsof seniority, branch, school type, educational background, sex and age.In this study, Survey research method has been used. The data have been obtainedfrom sixty-one (61) school governors and four hundred fifty-four (454) teachers that workedin highschools (17) in Trabzon city centre in 2004-2005 school year by questionnairetechnique. The data have been analyzed by using SPSS for Windows 10.00. For data analysis,frequency and percentage, median, standard deviation, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-WallisH test, one-way ANNOVA, Tukey and LSD tests, Spearman-Brown?s Rank-order correlationhave been used.According to research findings, there is a disparity of views between schoolgovernors and teachers on the realization levels of school governors? cultural leadership roles.The views changes according to high school types. The data obtained from teachers indicatesthat the realization levels of school governors? cultural leadership roles aren?t influenced byage, seniority, branch, educational background and sex. It is found out that the level ofteachers? satisfaction is low in terms of especially physical environment of schools, theopportunity to use and improve their skills and setting school aims, and that the level ofteachers? satisfaction who works at private high schools is higher than the level of teachers?satisfaction who works at other high schools. It is also found that the level of teachers?satisfaction who works at private high schools is affacted by seniority, branch, sex,educational background and age. It is also found out that there is a positive relation betweenthe realization level of school governors? cultural leadership roles and the level of students?satisfaction.Key Words: Cultural leadership, (teachers?) satisfaction
