Özet (EN)

The aim of this study is to develop a porous cathode which has high catalytic effect for lithium air battery. Cathode catalyst was prepared by addition of activated PdCl2, for different duration in a muffle furnace at 500°C, into gel composed of glycine, glycerol and carbon. Gel mixture was applied to the surface of stainless steel used as working electrode in electrochemical measurements. The catalytic effects of prepared electrodes for oxygen reduction at oxygen atmosphere in different solutions (LiClO4 EC: DMC (LED); LiPF6 EC: DMC ; LiClO4 EC: DEC ve LiPF6 EC: DEC by a ratio of 45:45:10, respectively) were determined using cyclic voltammetry (CV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and cathodic polarization techniques. Battery performance tests were carried out with a coin cell and an MTI battery cell in which prepared catalysts used as cathode. Surface morphology, pore structure and particle size were determined using XRD, XRF, SEM, TEM and BET analyzes. The most effective cathode for oxygen reduction is jel/LiPdO, of which capacity 750 mAh/g, obtained with PdCl2 exposed to 500 °C for 10 h in LED solution.
