Abstract (EN)

With the effect of globalization, logistics services have begun to be accepted as an indispensable power for the economy. The developments in the field of logistics have positive effects such as generating income for the country's economy, creating new working areas and similar positive effects, as well as positively affecting investments, especially foreign direct investments, and increasing the trade volume, thereby positively affecting economic growth. The improvement of the logistics sector creates income by stimulating the country's economy, providing new employment areas, and has a positive effect on economic growth by positively affecting investments, especially foreign direct investments, and increasing trade volumes. Economic growth drives the recovery of the industry, which in turn drives the recovery of the logistics service industry. Looking at foreign direct investments, it is expected to make a positive contribution to economic growth with its effects such as attracting demand in the short term and creating a supply effect in the long term. It provides many benefits to the host country such as using natural resources, promoting economic growth, increasing employment levels, improving production and management knowledge. Among the factors affecting the decision of FDI to choose a country to invest in, there are factors that directly and indirectly include logistics. In this study, the relationship between logistics performance, foreign direct investments and economic growth was determined on 35 selected OECD countries (Germany, Belgium, Japan, Netherlands, Austria, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Canada, Finland, USA, France, Spain, Luxembourg, Czech Republic, Australia, Portugal, Norway, Italy, Iceland, Ireland, Republic of Korea, Poland, Israel, Hungary, Estonia, Slovakia, Chile, Greece, Slovenia, Turkey, Mexico, Colombia) are intended to be tested empirically.Panel quantile regression analysis İSpreferred as the empirical analysis method. It can be referred that the relevant data obtained as a result of the study and the logistics performance index positively affect GDP per capita. While no positive relationship was observed between FDI and GDP per capita in the lower values, significant relationships were found in the middle and upper values. It can be observed that the investments to be made in the logistics sector have the effects of attracting FDI. For this reason, it can be said that the per capita GDP will be positively affected by these investments. Key Words: Logistics, foreign direct investment, economic growth
