Abstract (EN)

Introduction: The lung carcinomas are the most common cancer worldwide and it is been seen this is a growing problem. The present study discusses, the general characteristics of patients diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and treated with definitive chemoradiotherapy. Material and Method: 99 patients with stage IIIA and stage IIIB NSCLC who did not undergo surgical treatment and with treated definitive chemoradiotherapy were retrospectively evaluated. Patients with secondary primary malignancy and severe heart failure were not included in the study. Results: Gender, age, pathological subtype, lymph node involvement, smoke exposure, presence of smoking, tumor size, tumor location, ECOG performance score (ECOG-PS), body mass index (BMI), total radiotherapy dose, chemotherapy regimen, laboratory parameters such as leukocyte count (WBC), hemoglobin (HGB), neutrophil (NEU), lymphocyte (LYM), platelet (PLT), creatinine, total protein, albumin, AST, ALT, ALP, LDH and calcium (Ca) level, disease-free survival and overall survival data were included in the study. The present study investigated whether these parameters have an effect on overall survival and disease-free survival. In the overall survival analysis; WBC, NEU and PLT numbers, neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLR), ECOG-PSs were found to be statistically significant. LYM and age parameters were statistically significant for disease-free survival. Conclusion: In our study, WBC, NEU, PLT and LYM numbers, NLR, ECOG-PS, radiotherapy doses and ages of the patients were determined. Specific cut-off values were found to be useful in predicting the survival and prognosis of the patient. Keywords: Prognosis, locally advanced stage, definitive chemoradiotherapy, neutrophil lymphocyte ratio
