Abstract (EN)
Breast cancer is the most frequent tumor among women worldwide and is the second cause of cancer-related mortality in the the world. Metastatic breast cancer (MBC) accounts for less than 10% of newly diagnosed breast cancer patients and about 30% of early breast cancer patients will develop recurrent, advanced, or metastatic disease. Locally advanced breast cancer is 20-30% of all breast cancers. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy is standard therapy for patients with locally advanced breast cancer and is increasingly used for these patients. We were retrospectively analysed TEC (Dosetaxel-Epirubycin-Cyclophosphamide) neoadjuvant chemotherapy treatment which has been standard chemotherapy protocol in our clinic, efficiancy; such as treatment response and progression free survival and toxicity profile.Materyal and MethodsWe were analysed the patients who had non-metastatic locally advanced breast cancer and had treated with TEC chemotherapy protochol regular treated and follow-up patients in Dicle university medical Oncology department in 2004-2009 years. Treatment response was detected with physical analyses or postoperative patologic analysis and etc. Disease progresion free survival was detected. The patients who have disease progression or have no progression were compared for risk factors such as; estrogen receptor, progesteron receptor, patological necrosis and etc.ResultsTreatment responses were analysed; 6 (13,3%) patients had complete pathologic response, 27 (60%) had partiel, 6 (13,3%), had stabil disease and 6 (13,3%) had disease progresion. When we were analysed progresion free survival 22 (19,32-24,67) months. Disease progresion was detected in 30 (%66,6) patients.DiscussionNeoadjuvant chemotherapy was stadart treatment in locally advaced breast cancer. Most of chemotheary protochols were included dosetaxel such as TEC protchol. In our study when we were compared progresive and not progresive patients complete treatment response of neoadjuvant treatment is a single effective prognostic factor in locally advanced breast cancer.
