Lumbar radikülopatili patients to investigate the effectiveness of transforaminal epidural steroid injektion

Objectives: Since 2004 epidural injections have been used in the medical treatment of patients with lumbago in Medical Faculty of Dicle University. In this study our aim is to retrospektively analyse the activity of Transforaminal Epidural steroid and local anesthesic injections implemented on patients with lumber radiculapathy that apply to our hospital in 2008 .Material and Method: In Algology Clinics of Dicle University Medical Central Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation, 230 patients that underwent transforaminal anterior epidural injections because of lomber radiculopathy were evaluated during 2008. Information of patients was obtained from patients files, service protocol books and policlinics pursuit books. We got in touch with patients when required. Information of patients age, weight, height, and gender was stored as their demographic datum. Symptoms spans, how many times Transforaminal Epidural steroid and local anesthesic injections was done, how many times intervertion was realized, in how many levels operations were done, 1st month, 3rd month and 6th month VAS statics were storted. All operations were performed in accompany with C-steered floroscopi. Medical injections was done in a way 4cc for each segment blending %5 bupivakain(marcain) and 80 mg triamsinolon acetate with 3ml serum physiology after puncturing skin, underskin and back muscles with 22 G 100mm Stimuplex injections( stimuplexR A, Braun Melsungen AG, Melsungen,Germany), getting up to foramen intervertebrale and observing its spread in floroscopi giving 1-2 cc opaque substance to determine how it is got in to anterior epidural space better. VAS (visual anolog scala) was used in evaluation of the pain. Datum were evaluated in Microsoft Excel Program using the icon Add function. The results were presented on an average. In this study, all statistical calculations were evaluated in computer with the help of SPSS version 15,0 For Windows Packet Program. Kolmogrov- Smirnov was used for normality dispersion of datum and Levene?s tests for homogenity test. In statistical evaluations, Repetitive Anova was used and in pair comparison , matched t-test and Bonferroni correction .
