Abstract (EN)
Edirne (along with Karaağaç) which was lost at the end of I. Balkan War was retrieved at the end of II. Balkan War. In the I. World War, Karaağaç and it's sorroundings was given to Bulgaria as a spurring element to encourage Bulgaria to enter World War I on the side of Ottoman Empire and it's allies. After the successfull end of Turkish National Independence War by Mustafa Kemal's leadership, Karaağaç was inserted in Turkey's borders as a war reparation in Lausanne Peace Conferance (1923).
