Ludwig Van Beethoven's music and his violin sonata No.7

This study, involving the music of Ludwig van Beethoven, who is widely recognized as one of the greatest composers of the Classical era, and his Sonata for Violin and Piano Op.30 No. 2, contains chapters which tackle themes such as the biography of the composer, his understanding of music, formal analysis of the above mentioned sonata, and some practice tips for interpreting it. The study also examines the importance of Beethoven in the history of music, the effects of his life and personality upon his music, and analyses the Violin Sonata, composed in 1801. For this purpose, in the study have been used both Turkish and foreign sources. Although various researchs about Beethoven have already been made in Turkey, the fact that not many and significant studies about the Violin Sonata No. 7 exist in Turkish language is the most important factor for writing this study. In the last chapter of the study, all the movements of the work in question have been analysed, the technical challenges which could be confronted in each movement have been determined, and some exercises intented for overcoming this challenges have been presented. Therefore, in the author's opinion, the study will meet a need for both teachers and students in violin education.
