Abstract (EN)

Temples are places where societies perform theirs pecific rituals and ceremonies. From this point of view, the temples having a religious character are sanctified by the societies they serve. Temples are also tried to be kept alive functionally by each belief system. Either the temples of living religions or the temples of religions becoming extinct on earth have distinctive features differentiating them.The mosques which passes in 14 places in Koran that are the temples of Islamic community are not ordinary temples but they are the pieces making the aiming dynamism feel with all aspects to wide masses because the mosques having great roles in expanding the Islamic culture and civilization have a specific systemand discipline in handling the rules of temples in Islam. They have attained a certain and organised discipline in Islamic law by means of Kor?an, Sunnah and the views that are asserted in a secterian context.The mosques have been keeping the role of being the most important institution of Islamic community by their not abandoning the tradition.Islam have accepted the existence of other temples on the basis of certain rules with in. Islam aiming social peace and tranquility have evaluated the existence of these temples as a part of freedom of religion and conscience. Additionally, this matter has a wide part in the sources handling the legal status of non-Muslims?temples.Keywords: Temple, Mosques, Non-muslimstemples
