Özet (EN)

Aim: This study was conducted to examine the relationship between mindfulness and relapse prediction in individuals with substance use disorder. Method: The research was carried out between 20/11/2019-25/05/2020 with an individual diagnosed with substance use disorder who was treated as an outpatient in the Turgut Özal Medical Center Training and Research Hospital Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic in Malatya. The sample size was determined as 197 before the research was conducted. The research was completed with 193 individuals with substance use disorder between the specified dates. The research type was descriptive and relational, and "Personal Presentation Form", "Mindfullnes Scale" and "Relapse Prediction Scale" were used to collect data. Pearson correlation analysis was used to analyze the relationships between the obtained data, and the Independent Sample T Test and One Way Anova tests were used to compare the variables. Findings: The mean age of the participants was 32.27±10.53, 86.5% were male, 59.6% were single, 54.4% were high school graduates, and 53.9% did not work in any job. The mean age of trying the substance was 18.22±3.56, the average duration of addiction was 5.15±5.55 years, the average duration of substance use was 9.32±8.94 years, and the mean time to quit the substance was 8.62±8.23 months. It was seen that 47.2% of the participants had multiple substance use, 61.7% had substance use in the family, and the person using substance in the family was the father with 34.7%. The total mean score of the individuals in the study for the degree of Relapse Prediction desire and the probability of using it was 110.44±13.24 and 97.94±15.83, respectively, and the total mean score of Mindfulness was found to be 39.98±7.37. There is a significant and positive relationship between the degree of anticipation of relapse and the probability of using it. There is a significant and negative relationship between the total score average of the degree of Relapse Prediction desire and the possibility of using it, and the total point average of Mindfulness. Result: In line with the research findings, it was found that as the degree of Relapse Prediction increases, the probability of using it increases, and the level of Mindfulness decreases as the degree of Relapse Prediction desire and the probability of using it increase. Key Words: Substance Use Disorder, Mindfulness, Rredicting Relapse
