A research on determining attitudes of local people on rural tourism in mine creek

Rural tourism introduces our natural and cultural resources in rural areas to the whole world according to the conditions of the concept of sustainability.It also contributes to the development of the region.However, the support of the most important part of the rural tourism which is the local people is necessary for rural tourism in order to expected benefits to be realized.In this study, it was aimed to determine the attitude of the local people in Maden Stream Region towards the tourism. In order to reach the aim, firstly literature search was made. In the application part of the research, survey technique was used from the data collection methods frequently used in scientific researches.The scale used by Emiroğlu (2013) was utilized in the research.The questionnaire consists of two parts. there are 5 demographic questions in the first section and 19 closed-ended questions in Likert Scale with 5 options in the second section. The data of the study were analyzed with the SPSS Package Program. The findings were interpreted by using literature. The percent, frequency (occurrence frequency) t-test and descriptive factor analysis were used in the survey to determine the attitude of local people in rural tourism. Made exploratory factor analysis is located a total of 17 phrases in three dimensions, forming the attitudes of rural tourism. Economic dimension consist of 7 terms, socio-cultural and environmental dimension consist of 5 terms. The findings obtained from the survey: it is understood that the attitude of local people towards to the economic, socio-cultural and environmental dimension of the tourism activities are positive. However, it should be noted that the local people are concerned about the natural environment and the cultural structure to deteriorate. In addition,as a result of the analyzes made, it has been found that there are significant differences between the demographic characteristics of local people and the dimensions of tourism activities
