Framing news of mining in Turkish written press

Some aspects of the framing news event, first voiced by the 20th-century scientist Goffman, are selected and privileged over others. Journalists, who have to tell an understandable and attractive story and conditioned by news production routines and time and space constraints, frame the truth by deciding what to stand out and what not to stand out. This affects the way people view things. In this research, framing is discussed in the context of mining and mining news. In this context, 701 news articles published in national and local newspapers a week before and a week after the 2011, 2015 and 2018 general elections on mining and mining were examined in five main frameworks: responsibility, human and social interest, conflict, morality and economy. As a result of the study, it was found that the news about mining and mining in the local and national newspapers were found to be less. The government was not held responsible for the problems related to mining and mining. While news of the economy and the invention of the new invention were published using a positive tone, the news about mining accidents and death, the environment and the working conditions of the workers were mostly presented to the reader in a negative language.
