Abstract (EN)

In this study, the effects of burning parameters on the lime quality has been investigated by using limestones of Temouchent/Algeria region in Maerz kilns belonging to Tosyali Lime Production Plant. Founded in 2018, Tosyali Holdinghas been producing high quality lime and its derivatives since.In the facility 2 parallel-flow Maerz kilns are operated and the daily production capacity of the plant is 900 tons as of 2019 and the annual production capacity is 328000 tons in terms of heat efficiency. The Maerz kilns is the most efficient and the most stable type of lime kiln in the history of kilns.Its most important feature is the ability to producelow-calorie and soft-baked lime.The main reason for high heat efficiency of Maerz kilns is that they can fully utilize the heat excess in the preheating zone of the furnace burning air; on the other hand it is not possible to find sufficient heat when passing through the cooling zone below the calcination zone of the seconder combustion air in the corresponding vertical shaft furnaces. Limestones can be calcinedbetween 40-90 mm in Maerz kilns with the net heat consumption 850-900 kcal/kgCaO. In this thesis, such as limestone and fuel to produce good quality lime, also prolonged stoppages in the kiln, fuel granulometry, weather condition, selected production capacity, quantity of fed limestone into the kiln has been investigated.
