Özet (EN)
MAG welding continually increases its usage rate in the industry due to the benefits it possesses. One of the most important points in MAG weld is the selection of wire electrodes. In this method, the concretion of source metal resulting from wire electrode and shielding gas combination has to meet the required mechanical and physical properties. In this study, the effects of electrode type to the properties of weld seam in MAG weld are examined. Through the experiments, St 37 low carbon structure steel was used as main metal, 76% Ar + 20% CO2 + 4% O2 combination mix gas was used as shielding gas and solid wire electrode and rutile character cored wire electrode were used. In order to assess the effects of different material use on the mechanical properties of the weld seam, tensile and hardness test were made then macroscopic examinations were conducted. Effects of different parameters on penetration are evaluated by measuring penetration depths of welded samples in macroscopic examinations. Keywords: MAG welding, penetration, solid wires, cored wires
