Abstract (EN)
In this study, nano and micro sized EuB6 was synthesized via direct magnesiothermic reduction. Method was optimized according to temperature and reaction time. Eu2O3 and B2O3 were used as raw material and magnesium metal was used as reducing agent. Reactions carried out in different temperature and reaction times in a muffle furnace in open air. The optimum temperature and reaction time of 4 hours and 600?C, respectively. Products were analysed with X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM). XRD analysis proved the formation of pure EuB6 and SEM analysis was used to characterize the structure and morphologies of samples. Nanosized and microsized EuB6 with a heterogeneous morphology were observed.
