Abstract (EN)

Technical drawing training has an important place among basic engineering trainings. Especially due to the lack of technical drawing reading skills of the new graduates, the number of discarded products in the machinery and manufacturing sector increases while the productivity in production decreases. In order to eliminate this important problem and meet the expectations of the sector in this field, the ability to read Technical Drawing should be gained during vocational and engineering education. In this study; supportive virtual (VR) and augmented reality (AR) applications have been developed in order to meet the educational material needs of trainers and to improve the learning performance of the students and to meet the expectations of the sector. The AR is also a way to help individuals learn lifelong in terms of installation, use and sustainability, and to provide a more understandable transfer of knowledge and skills. In this study, AR applications have been developed in all subject titles, including surface roughness and geometric tolerance information, in order to support the correct application of the details on the drawings in technical drawing reading and manufacturing, which are seriously lacking in the machinery manufacturing sector. While developing its applications, content and material development studies were conducted in line with needs analysis and expectations studies. While developing AR applications, the parts to be transferred to Unity3D environment have been converted to obj or fbx file format with optimal mesh structure. Google ARCore library to develop AR application in Untiy3D environment and related library for QR code scanning have also been added to Unity3D environment. The animations were designed in accordance with the scenarios and the interface was designed to manage these animations.
