Occupational safety risk assessment and analysis in machine manufacturing processes: Example of manufacture of cooling tank

In this thesis, first it made disclosures about occupational health and safety date after Turkey and data are analyzed. with information obtained from statistical data of the social security institutions, occupational health and safety in Turkey, made comments and suggestions have been made about the case. For provious studies on risk analysis, a literature search has been made and machinery and examinations have been made about the equipment used in the cooling tank manufacturing process. As an example of the machinery manufacturing process, an enterprise where milk cooling tanks are manufactured has been selected as an applicaation area. The application area was visited at different times during the study and all the machines used were observed in order, the precautions to be taken while using were determined and instructions for use were prepared. The sources and risk sources were determined by evaluating the works and determined by evaluating the works and determents separately in the enterprise and information about the risk assessment process was given. The existing corrective/ preventive control measures for risk sources have been identified. A risk analysis was performed by choosing the L type matrix method from the risk analysis methods. As result of this risk analysis, 199 risk founded. These risk were identified as 27 "Acceptable Risks",128 "Remarkable Risks" and 44 "Unacceptable Risk". After the corroctive / preventive actions were implemented for all of these risks, 160 "Acceptable Risk" 39 "Remarkable Risk" and unacceptable risk were completely eliminated. With this study, it has been seen that the L type matrix method is suitable for the manufacturing of cooling tanks, which are chosen as an example for the medium-sized machine manufacturing process. In the field of occupational health and safety, machinery manufacturing etc. That will be made in the future. It ıs aimed to create a ground for other studies and to compare the studies with different analysis methodology.
