Abstract (EN)

The primary focus and objective identified in the research are to reveal the applicability of the Six Sigma methodology in machine production processes and the impacts of this application on the processes. Improvements in business processes have been achieved using the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) process, leveraging the advantages brought by Six Sigma's focus on reducing variations in processes to enhance quality and lower costs. Within the scope of the research, improvement efforts were conducted on two different production machines. At each stage of the improvement process, root cause analysis and Ishikawa diagrams, Pareto analysis, control charts, and statistical analyses were employed to measure the current performance of the processes, identify potential improvement areas, and evaluate the effects of the changes made. In this context, statistical methods and process control charts were used to monitor changes in process performance, and finally, the results were repeatedly verified using histograms and QQ-Plot diagrams for normal distribution checks. The findings obtained demonstrated significant improvements in machine production processes through Six Sigma applications. Notable reductions in downtime and increases in production efficiency were achieved for the production machines. These improvements contributed to reducing overall production costs and enhancing production quality. It was observed that applying the improvements and positive results presented in the research to other production machines would yield even more optimized results for the company.
