Abstract (EN)

In this study, gemstones were examined mineralogical, geochemical and gemological observed in Doğansehir and Arguvan in the province of Malatya region and the aim is found the possibility of gemstones feature of minerals in the detection, formation mechanisms and the determination of rock relations as well as gemological measurable nature and is intended to be determined. Part of our work in Doğansehir observed Corundum (ruby and sapphire) minerals, Malatya within metamorphic were also detect the presence of brown garnet near the Eocene aged Berit Metaophiolite. Corundum and garnet develops in the form of pure mineral within metamorphic rocks and limestone at the contact metasomatic granitic intrusions are developed. Corundum group minerals color, hardness, workability in terms of moving garnet gemstone feature does not carry this feature. Other areas forming part of our work around Arguvan located within the Upper Miocene volcanics Yamadağ places basaltic andesitic agglomerates places in different colors in the form of lumps and bluish green chrysocolla mineral opals were found. The gems which is found this region, color of the samples, hardness, workability as they have such properties have been found to have the characteristics of gemstone.
