THE EXAMİNATİON OF KNOWLEDGE, ATTİTUDES AND BEHAVİORS OF THE HEALTH PERSONNEL WORKİNG AT THE FAMİLY HEALTH CENTERS İN MALATYA CİTY CENTER TOWARDS TO THE SCREENİNGS AT NATİONAL CANCER SCREENİNG PROGRAM This research has been performed with the aim of determining the knowledge, attitude and behaviours, related to national cancer screening standards, of doctors, midwives and nurses working in Family Health Centers. The survey has been practised in 38 Family Health Centers in the center of Malatya and the survey population is made up of 130 doctors, 100 midwives and 46 nurses; 276 in total. The type of the survey is cross-sectional. In the acquisition of data, the questionnaire form consisting 38 questions was used and the statistical analysis of data was done by using SPSS 16.0 packet programme. In charts, the numbers were demonstrated with percentage, averages with standard deviation. In the statistical evaluation of the data, pearson Ki-kare and Fisher Exact tests were used.In the survey group, the average age of doctors is 41.95± 5.1, the average age of the midwives is 37.97± 6.2 and the average age of the nurses is 35.74± 5.5. %62.3 of the study group is made up of women, %37.7 of the group is men. %95.7 of the group is married. In the study group %89 of the women have performed breast self exams (BSE). %23.8 have had Clinical Breast Examination (CBE). %14 of women in the survey have taken mammography, %2.3 of them have taken the test when necessary, %11.6 of them have taken mammography when unnecessary. The percentage of the women who take pap smear test in the survey is %37.2, %36.6 of these women have taken the test when necessary, %0.6 have had it when unneeded.% 57 of them hasn't taken the test though necesssary. %5.1 of the survey group have Fecal Occult Blood (FOB) test; however these are persons who have taken the test when unnecessary.%6.2 of the group haven't taken the test when necessary. %2.2 of the survey group have had colonoscopy, but these are the persons who have taken the test when unneeded. %6.2 of the group hasn't had colonoscopy though needed. Health personnel is the main source of medical knowlege in society and role model who has to be. If thought that they are health personnel, in our survey only the percentage of BSE is high. The percentage of taking CBE, Mammography, Pap Smear, FOB test and Colonoscopy is low. Most health personnel have said that they haven't taken tests either because they can't find enough time or because of negligence. In order to be protected from the breast, cerviks and colorectale cancer, the sensibility regarding the education and cancer screening should be promoted.
