Pyrophyllite material from the region Pütürge Malatya usability of concrete aggregate investigation

In this paper, it is purposed searching usability of pyrophillite (phyllite) rock for concrete aggregate which is found in Pütürge district of Malatya. Pütürge is located 74 km away from Malatya. On the south side of Pütürge there are 25 type of pyrophillite detected around 15 km long zone and 10 mine opened around there [8]. Those samples have brought to granulometric state by broken with rock crusher and aggregate tests and some hardened concrete tests have done in accordance with standards.Sieve analysis, grain size range investment, resistance to fragmentation of aggregrate investment, weight density and water absorption investment and MgSO4 hollow drill testing have done as aggregate experiences. At results of these experiences abrasion loss of aggregate was measured 28%. Weight density was measured 2.67. Unit weight in saturated state was measured 2.70. Absorption percentage was measured 0.9. Average loss percentage of MgSO4 hollow drill testing was measured 22%.Density of hardened concrete investment, ultrasonic pulse transmission rate investment, surface hardness investment, compressive strength, flexural strength, tensile splitting strength, impact effect and high temperature effect investments have done as concrete experiments. At the result dry unit weight of hardened concrete was measured around 2.08. Ultrasonic pulse transmission rate was measured Uh=3778,3m/sn. Surface hardness was measured around 20.92. Compressive strength of 28 days waited concrete was was measured 21.17 MP. Flexural strength was measured 1.20 MP, tensile splitting strength was measured 2.08 MP. On impact effect sample has resisted 140 number of strokes. And also samples which have subjected to high temperature have resisted around 1450 oC.At the results of experiences, obtained results have analyzed by TS EN standards and have given quantitatively. Obtained results by producing concrete with using this aggregate are not very high for compressive strength and flexural strength. But that concrete has resisted well on impact effect and high temperature.
