Özet (EN)
While people look for a more comfortable, more peaceful and a safer place, the increase in population, urbanization and fast growing technology in the information age we are now in has brought about so many problems. Crimes which is one of these problems have begun to affect community life further. Crime is a phenomenon coming to light in consequence of interaction of social, economical, political, physical and physchological conditions with geographical factors. Since the crime occurs in a geographical scene, the relationship between crime and scene is important. Characteristics forming the scene may come in sight differently on the crime incident. Crimes constitutes one of the major problems experienced in city. Burglary constitutes the largest part of the crimes in city. In this research, burglaries in Beydagi and Sanayi police stations' area of responsibility in Malatya city center have been aproached. In this study, population of neighbourhood, utilization analysis of buildings, income distribution and their interrelationship plays a determinin role in dispersion of burglaries. In dispersion of experienced burglaries to neighbourhood, it has come to light that they differ according to burglary types. Thus, with the increase in crime in certain areas of city regional crime scenes; concentrations in specific locations within these areas crime centers (hot scenes) showed up. These crime centers have been formed by concentration of many crime fed on the same ground rather than one crime. Socio-economic structure in the neighbourhood and land use have been effective in differences in spatial dispersion of crime. Mapping in the environment of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) which is foregrounding the association of crime and scene, has gained importance in recent years. In this study, relationship between the dispersion of burglary in Beydagi and Sanayi police stations' area of responsibility and space are mapped by methods of GIS and analysis were performed. It is observed that crime do not cluster densely in certain areas of crime and this situation is not independent from spatial characteristics and each other.
