Minstrel Mürteza Aksüt from Malatya (His life, art and poems)

The Turks who has a long history based on centuries ago reigned in various geograpies and took both their cultures to the places where they went and by dissolving those cultures,they formed a cultural mosaic.The fusion with different ethnic groups have brought about a very rich tradition of oral literature which also reflected in their literature. The bards who are the bearers of this oral tradition became the voice of society by wandering and expressing their poems land by land.In later centuries, this tradition which wrapped the religious-mystical nature with thein fluence of sects continued to existunder the name of Minstrel Literature. Minstrel Literature for med by minstrels coming together has under gone many changesso far. Thetradition of minstrelsy, both in execution time sand the media, their ways of raising and the tradition's progress in a different line, began to show itself and raised many minstrels who left their marks on tradition. After its gloriousera, the tradition of minstrelsy which had a little decline, continues to move forward in the effort to renewitsel faccording to theera. Thistradition, which is an important part of our culture maintain sits live liness with various event sand feasts held in certain parts of Anatolia. Malatya, which gave a large number of masters to Minstrel Literature is one of the most important stops. From past to the present, Mürteza Aksüt who has an effort for survival of the tradition is one of the best amongst whom practices his art having molded with his own culture. In this study, wetried to evaluate Mürteza Aksüt's life, art, his place in the tradition of minstresly, there flection of his art in his life and his different aspects amongst the representatives of the tradition of minstresly living in Malatya. After giving the alteration of the tradition of minstrelsy in history and the tradition of minstresly in Malatya in the introduction part, we gave in formation about Mürteza Aksüt's life and tried to determine his location on the tradition of minstrelsy by including his art and poets. Mürteza Aksüt, who has the ability of extem porisation, plays saz master fully, in corporates many aspects of the tradition, goes with master minstrels is an important value. The minstrel who adresses to socialissues in his poems reflects the conception of the world which sees huminity with one eye caters to all people by using a simple language. In this study, wetried to give many examples about the issues that he handles by examining his one hundred and twelve poems in terms of form and content in details and thearts, idioms, terse statements and expression features and determine his place in the tradition.
