The social and economic situation in Manisa, According to Sher`i Records Numbered 189 of Manisa Court

ABSTRACT The recearch on a certain city, covering the events for a period of one year, when the social movements and changes were too slow, will most probably help us to set it's broader situation within a lorger period of time. Considering this, by the orginal transcription and comments of the canonical record, numbered 189, for the years 1145 / 1732; we have tried to anolyze administrative, economic and social - cultural structure of the township of Manisa. Although the records consist of a rather short time (1 year), they present very specific and valuable information on the administration and social life in the town. We have gained a lof of information about the figures who had been empbyed during the period, we have chosen to carry and our study, and we have also learnt much about their social status. Whe have reached very warth details about the daily life of the people living in Manisa by the help of cases that had been stated in the court records. From those, commercial contacts we have learned the prices of commonly used tools and devices, selling and buying prices of live strock and real estates such as grapevines, shops and houses. It is possible to find out the tacts on people's traditions, law practius, their family ties and even how people view the world in general bay studying the court texts which reflect their life - style. Thus, all the information we have reacted has been presented in quantities and with their qualities.
