Abstract (EN)
Keywords: Vibration Isolator, Wire-Rope Isolator, Magnetism. In this thesis, the design, modeling and damping (dynamic) characteristics of SRVI (Steel Rope Vibration Isolator) which had been added magnetic damping by obtaining, the effect of magnetic impact on damping was investigated. SRVI is a wide range of equipment for vibration isolation in many machine industries and precision devices. Moreover, It is also widely used in the defense and arms industries. SRVI consists of ropes with a high number of turns fixed between two plates (metal, polymer, etc.). Due to the friction between the wires, they show good damping performance depending on the rope material, number of turns and winding type. The harmonic drive of the SRVI leads to a hysteresis loop resulting in energy distribution. This results in an excellent damping ability. In general, SRVI has dry friction damping and hysteresis damping. This damping characteristic meets a system with spring and damping element alone. In this study, it is aimed to add magnetic damping character in addition to these two damping characteristics. The direction and degree to which the magnetic damping affects the dynamic behavior of SRVI is investigated. For this purpose, magnets (30x5,5x5) were added to the SRVI, which is used as a damping element, and dynamic tests were carried out at various speed values by shaking. In the light of the data obtained from the test results, it is experimentally obtained how the magnetic damper added insulator behaves dynamically compared to SRVI. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of SRVI on vibration and damping characteristics by adding magnetic damping in addition to damping mechanisms of classical wire rope vibration isolators. However, it is aimed to provide a more effective isolation against shock and impact resistances and at the same time, it is aimed to produce a damping element which characterizes itself according to the input force, amplitude and frequency using intuitive algorithms
