Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted to determine the attitudes of operating room nurses towards the management of the operating room. The study data were collected between 1 July 2019 - 29 February 2020 in the operating room services of state hospitals in Mardin using the Sociodemographic Characteristics Data Form and the Operating Room Management Attitude Scale. The sample of the study included 76 nurses. The average age of the nurses was 33.76 ± 6.31 and 47.4 were women, 73.7% were married and 68.4% were undergraduate degrees. It was determined that the sub-dimension with the highest score in the Operating Room Management Attitude Scale mean score was Stress and burnout, while the lowest score was in the leadership sub-dimension. It was determined that females had higher mean scores than males in the confidence subscale. (p <0.05). In the teamwork sub-dimension, it was determined that those with 7-12 years of professional experience had higher mean scores. (p <0.05). It was determined that the average scores of employees working in the operating room between 5-9 years in the sub-dimension of not sharing information were higher than the working year. No statistically significant difference was found between the marital status and education about working in the operating room and the sub-dimensions of the scale. (p> 0.05). As a result; In this study, the effects of stress and burnout of nurses on their operating room management attitudes and that the attitudes of the leader were also effective in determining these attitudes. The nurses' professional working year and the working year in the operating room are effective in collaborating with team members. In order to be effective in operating room management, nurses should take on a guiding role in clinics and be in constant communication with team members in order to reduce the stress and burnout that reduce the productivity of team members. In order to improve their leadership, they should attend trainings that will increase their professional development. Key words: Operating Room, Management, Nursing, Surgical Nursing
