Özet (EN)

In today's world, the tourism sector has become a phenomenon in the economic field. Its positive effects on the economies of many countries highlight its importance, in general. In Turkey, tourism creates one of the most disadvantaged issues which are related with providing services to low-income groups among tourists. However, there are also higher-income groups such as private yachtsmen and tourists who prefer yacht tourism. In this way, yacht tourism and marinas where the needs of yachts are met gain a substantial position. Marinas can be counted as the infrastructure of the marine tourism. These enterprises are both capital-intensive in the investment phase and labor-intensive in the operational phase. There is a need of human labor in the services which are provided. Therefore, it is natural that marinas contribute to the employment rate in the areas they are settled. Also, they provide with serious acquisition to the region the overall economy. It can be said that the effects of economic marinas can be examined in three parts. The effects in the investment stage can be counted as researches and projects, the preliminary permit, site installation and staff wages, and the building audit expenses. The effects in the building stage are all kinds of manufacture of buildings and breakwater being constructed, fuel and waste stations, mobile crane, and installation of infrastructure, such as electricity and water costs. The effects of the operational phase are the staff wages, promotion and advertising expenses, legal fees, maintenance costs and fuel costs. Directly, economic contributions of the marinas as being enterprises are the boat mooring income, the revenue from the haul and the technical service, the revenue from the rental income and diving services. When it is mentioned about the marinas and yachts, in different phases, the employment becomes an issue that is widely talked about. There are necessary employment types for the opportunities provided to perform the marina service for yachts that are required for waiting time, for the care which is required while cruising yachts. However, it is very difficult to determine whether how much of the labor force that is employed serves to the tourism industry in general or directly serves to the people of the region. If the tourism enterprises establish the good relationships with the local people, this situation will support the economic gains and will increase the employment rate. Therefore, while marina enterprises contribute to the general economy, it also contributes to the economy of the local regions. However, marinas, according to the area they are founded, are not at the level that can be met the local people's expectations. On the other hand, it can be talked about their general benefits of the marinas as we discussed.
