Özet (EN)

Chickpea (Cicer arietunumL) is grown in many countries in terms of being rich in protein. Abiotic and biotic stress factors affect chickpeas and cause significant yield losses. The main factor is Didymella rabiei which can cause crop losses of up to 100%. The aims of this study were to identify Ascochyta blight disease severity of the Marmara region and to define the mating types and pathotypes of the D. rabiei isolates. The highest disease severities were determined in the Tekirdağ and Çanakklae provinces. A total of 87 isolates were obtained and mating types of 55 isolates were determined. According to mating-type studies, 23 isolates were MAT1-1, 32 of them were MAT1-2. The ratio of MAT1-1/ MAT1-2 was not equal to Mendel's 1/1 distrubution. Pathogenic characterization of 27 D. rabiei isolates which obtained from 5 different city in Marmara region were determined and the isolates exhibited low virulence. It is concluded that the application of integrated disease menagement against Ascochyta blight is necessary in the Marmara region of Turkey
