Abstract (EN)

In this study, the historical, cultural and political lives of Maronites living in the Kormacit village of Girne district in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has been investigated. It was seen that, Maronites have migrated to island of Cyprus from Lebanon due to religious constraints and when they come to this land they were exposed to the pressure of Greek Orthodox Church. Although they were left in the Southern side of the border by the ? Green Line ? crossed out in Cyprus, their crossing over to North by the permission of Turkish government, the support of Vatikan Catholic Church for Maronite Community in political arena and worship of Maronites in the Kormacit Maronite Churches every week are the other subjects that were investigated in this research. The subject was taken up by paying attention to objectivity principle by the interviews conducted with historians, academicians, politicians and the representators of Maronite community.
