Death at the thought of Martin Heidegger

Martin Heidegger is undoubtedly a thinker who has often mentioned his name with his opinions and thoughts in the recent periods of the history of thought. Heidegger's main problem is to concentrate on the relationship between being and Decency. Heidegger will start philosophy with a new question. In this context, he forms his philosophy within the framework of the question about existence or the question about the meaning of existence. Stating that the only being who will question the meaning of existence is Dasein, he deals with the concepts of anxiety, fear and death and the state of Dasein in everyday life situations and tries to understand existence in this way. Heidegger positioned the phenomenon of death as a possibility that determines the existence of Dasein and gives meaning to life. So much so that Dasein, with his understanding of death, seizes his own existential possibilities and reaches an authentic interpretation of the true meaning of existence. The solution to an authentic life lies in the awareness that a person is mortal. Heidegger connects the phenomenon of death, which will provide the integrity and meaning of life, with the concepts of time, and carries out an investigation into the meaning of existence through a finite and limited being. Heidegger developed some thoughts about the relationship he established between death and time, about the structure of Decein's being and what existence means, and spoke about a deficiency that has always existed at the heart of Decein. According to him, this deficiency will be eliminated only by confronting the phenomenon of death. The confrontation with death, on the other hand, will take place thanks to the confrontation of the being with himself towards death. Thus, according to Heidegger, Dasein, who has always been lacking in understanding the meaning of his own existence, will have the opportunity to question the totality of his own life and reveal his authentic way of being. At the same time, the fact that Dasein is a mortal being also points to his temporal being. In this regard, the concept of time will be of great importance at the point where it will determine the direction of Dasein to be authentic and comprehend him to be a being towards death.
