Abstract (EN)
One of the oldest professions in the world is storytelling. Tales and myths have been told since ancient times to keep the memory of the society alive, to remind the rules of common living, and to ensure the maturity of individuals. Today, storytelling is an area of increasing popularity. Various festivals, meetings and symposiums on this subject are carried out with an intense participation. Trainings on campus narrative, camps are organized, on-line training programs in private universities and elective courses are designed. Story-telling is at first glance seen as a traditional habit, a nostalgic action, an activity of childhood and children. Looking at the storytelling today, it can be said that this is an act of art that is actively performed. Story-telling is an activity or a performance that has emerged from the traditional patterns of different ways of coming together to the communities where people have different opinions, to the listeners coming together in different places, in short, to the public space. Story-telling can be categorized into three sections: preparation to story, telling, analysis of story and its effects. This study focuses on the preparation of the table to be considered as the first phase of the storytelling. The aim of the study was to learn the preparation process of the storytellers. The research questions are designed as follows: What is the role of education in this area of storytelling? What is the role of master apprentice relationship in today's narration? If so, what is the other profession effects of the other trainings on the narrator? How does the level of interaction with art affect the narrator? How does the narrator find the tales and how s/he chooses it? How does the narrator work the tales, what does the preparation process do? What is the role of personal experiences in storytelling? A literature study was conducted for this research and a field study was planned in order to find answers to research questions after the basic concepts and information about verbal culture, tales, myth, epic and narrative were revealed. For this purpose, Qualitative Research Method was used and Grounded Theory was adopted as a research design. The data for the research were collected and analyzed through in-depth interviews from 17 tale narrators.
