Analysis of the symbol tale formellerinin

Fairy tales, which are among our oral literature outputs, as well as being a literary genre, are one of our cultural heritages conveying past to present and present into the future. Conveying past into present, fairy tales establish a cultural transfer and has an important role for the permanence of nations. In the process of conveying, fairy tales get enriched by the cultural, psychological and traditional features of the geography they dwell in. This affluence is diversely expressed in our fairy tales. One way of this expression is making use of symbols. The symbolic language right starts where the human conscious is incompetent. Symbolic language is above an ordinary language. Fairy tales turn into a sophisticated text consisting of many layers using the variations of symbols and the capabilities of symbolic language. As such, if we analyze fairy tales and formals known as set phrases within a fairy tale, texts will assume different interpretations.Formals are used in fairy tales for miscellaneous functions. While the narrator prepares his audience for the world of the tale, during transitions and while ending the tale and on occasions when he has to gain time, he resorts to formals. These words adding harmony to the tale are also of importance in denoting the mastery of the narrator. Apart form the function mentioned above, formals are braided with symbolic denotations. A deep analysis of many formals can indicate many aspects of the cultural characteristics of a nation as well as universal connotations.In this work prepared with this thought and sensibility, we dealt with the symbolic denotations of fairy tales. We performed a new classification considering the symbolic denotations of formals.
