Abstract (EN)

Mankind, whom differs from other creatures by the means of ability to think, has been trying to define and get to know the environment that they lived in from the beginning of the existence. In this concept, Mankind has been produced more and more functional thoughts and devised varied ways to transfer them. Math and Arts, which are two different disciplines that play a very important role for the transfusion of art to the audience. Even though they seem very different, both of them try to explain the universe in their own nature. Nature is the mother of these two concepts and they aim to study, analyze, abstract and even reintroduce it. The aesthetic approach of these abstract concepts to the nature also creates a very important bond between them. This study aims to show the relation between the two different disciplines, Math and Arts. Accordingly, it is limited to sculpture, the one of the oldest forms of art, and tries to make its point on exemplary sculptors and their works.For this purpose, math and geometry concepts and their historical development are defined in the first chapter. In this process, as well as their transformation and development, their area of use are also evaluated on sub titles.On second chapter, the point of intersection of math and geometry with arts is evaluated on the basis of the rate laws. Additionally, the effects of math and geometry to art schools and artists on 20th century are located on this chapter.On the third chapter, the effects of math and geometry to sculpture are dealt with and it is examined on the important artists of contemporary sculpture and their works.
