Abstract (EN)
This thesis evaluates the concepts of space and time, which are important in defining oneself, one's surroundings, and existence, from Māturīdī's perspective. The understanding of space and time has influenced human reasoning, observation, and belief. Similarly, belief, observation, and the way reasoning is applied have also shaped the understanding of space and time. This interaction has contributed to the development of human knowledge and civilization. The concepts of space and time have been understood differently in pre-Islamic thought and within the Islamic worldview. We can interpret the influence within Islam as understanding Islamic texts through the impact of pre-Islamic thought and producing original knowledge in the pre-Islamic context influenced by Islam. Those who shaped these concepts by drawing from Islamic texts introduced new methods of reasoning and scientific inquiry. Māturīdī can be considered among the thinkers who, influenced by these texts, developed new approaches to reasoning and science. In this study, we will examine how Māturīdī's understanding of space and time is evaluated within the framework of reasoning and scientific thought. Additionally, we will explore how he comprehended existence and explained secondary meanings through this understanding.
