Abstract (EN)

In addition to the convenience that technology brings to human life in a constantly developing and changing world, it is an inevitable fact that the magnetic field that is exposed to while using these devices has negative effects on human health. Even electromagnetic waves emitted by computers and mobile phones can cause serious health problems when exposed for a long time. In this study, it was aimed to synthesize Ti3SiC2-containing MAX phase structures, to apply them to cotton fabric, to investigate electromagnetic shielding and ignition properties in order to reduce the negative effects of electromagnetic radiation. Ti3SiC2 MAX phase was synthesized at 1300, 1350 and 1350 °C temperatures for 1 and 2 hours in an argon atmosphere and an atmosphere controlled furnace in a vacuum environment. Density, particle size, XRD, SEM, EDX analyzes were performed on the samples. Ti3SiC2 phase ratios in the synthesized samples were determined by Rietveld Analysis. The sample with the highest amount of Ti3SiC2 phase was ground into nano powder. The obtained Ti3SiC2 nano powder was applied to cotton plain fabric by coating method. Comparisons were made by taking SEM, EDX and AFM images of the fabrics before and after washing. In addition to the electromagnetic shielding property of the coated fabric, its resistance to ignition and burning was also investigated.
