Abstract (EN)

The overall purpose of this study is to highlight the Catalan Company as one of the protagonists in Anatolia's late Medieval history, an actor that significantly contributed to laying the foundations for the future Ottoman world. To demonstrate the Company's role in the Peninsula, the text examines the mercenaries' political activities through a fresh historiographical lens that also delves into cultural, economic, and gender-related aspects. Additionally, the writing aspires to foster, for the first time, a dialogue between Catalan, Greek, and Turkish historiography and historians.
