Especially successful video games show the importance of this collaboration. Video game design consists of many areas. In this sense, some of these areas and the history of video games are mentioned within the scope of the research. Interface design in video games is one of the important areas in video game design. Interface designs perform valuable and important functions in terms of providing players not only the necessary information but also the required design language. When we look at the interface design in video games, it is seen that many successful video games have common design language integrity. Being able to understand how this field was created is valuable in media design and video game design. It is hoped that scientific research in this field will be beneficial to both the literature and the video game industry. With the developing technology, the video game industry has grown even more and the variety of video games has increased. Video games come in many categories and themes. Open world video games are just one of these themes. The necessity of organizing many stages in open world video games necessitated a successful and well-organized interface design. In open world video games, interface design review has been carried out and it is assumed that interface design establishes a link with the video game and the player. This research is supported by sample video game reviews and interviews with players. With this scientific research on interface design, the level of connection of interface design with the game and the player has been revealed. Additionally, interface designs were made for a selected open world video game. With this research, both the importance of video game design in media design and the value of interface design in open world video games are expressed.
