Abstract (EN)
In this study, Mehmed Fahri Kopuz's methodology book named "Nazarî ve Amelî Ud Dersleri", written in early 20th century in Ottoman Turkish is transfered into modern Turkish and it is compared with Ali Salâhî Bey's methodology book named "İlaveli Ud Mu'allimi" to reveal the differences and similarities. Since some of our music sources are written in Ottoman Turkish, they cannot be use by everyone today. In order to over come this short coming, both sources have been transfered into the Latin alphabet which we are currently using. How ever, as the transfered of the methodology of Ali Salâhî Bey was included in the academic study of Mehmet Bitmez, a lecturer at Istanbul Technical University Turkish Music State Conservatory, not the whole of the methodology was included in this study due to ethical reasons. Besides these, other oud methodologies (written by Hâfız Mehmed Efendi, Cinuçen Tanrıkorur, Mutlu Torun, Şerif Muhiddin Targan, Kadri Şençalar, Gülçin Yahya Kaçar) have been briefly mentioned in order to look at the content and subject expressions in different ways. Since it is among the earliest sources written as a methodology, an evaluation has been made at the end of the comparison of these methodologies and deficiencies have been detected to offer suggestionsto those who want to write a new method.
