Evaluation of the interaction between the space and the visitor in the case of cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine

This study, which addresses the interaction between space and visitor in terms of Museums of Architecture, tries to determine the effects of space setup on visitor behaviors. The introductory first chapter of the study, which consists of six chapters, explains the problem, aim of the study, and the importance and limitations of the study. The second chapter which is focused on the concept of museums and Museums of Architecture explains the concept of museum and museum studies, defines museums of architecture, and provides examples of museums of architecture in the world. These examples, which are within the scope of museums of architecture that were visited and examined are provided below in the order they are included in the study: Schusev State Museum of Architecture, Arkkitehtuurimuseo, Deutsches Architektur Museum, Schweizerisches Architektur Museum, and Cite de l'architecture et du Patrimoine. The last part of the chapter includes studies on the museum of architecture in Turkey. The third chapter, which is one of the theoretical parts of the study, focuses on space-human interaction. Within this context, concepts such as spatial perception, spatial cognition, spatial behavior, and environmental psychology are explained by associating them with the subject of the study. The fourth chapter examines the space-visitor interaction in the museums of architecture. First, the relationship between product and space exhibited in the museums of architecture and visiting experience in the museums of architecture are revealed. Then, the wayfinding behavior, which is one of the most important behaviors exhibited by the visitors in the museums, was investigated and the personal and environmental factors affecting the wayfinding were examined. The first stage of the fifth chapter, which includes the method and the field study, explains the spatial syntax analysis method. Within this context, spatial syntax theory and concepts related to the theory, usage areas of analysis are addressed. The second stage of the chapter provides detailed information on the purpose and scope of the field study carried out in Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine, the process followed, and the museum. The third stage contains an observational analysis of the field study. The fourth stage includes permeability and visible area analyses carried out using agraph and depthmap software. The conclusion chapter, which is the sixth and final chapter of the study, interprets the results of all observations and analyzes carried out based on the theoretical information included in the study and provides suggestions.
