COMPARING THE PERFORMANCE OF NUMERIC AND VERBAL EDUCATEDSTUDENTS FOR MELODY REPETITION ORIENTED MUSICAL PERCEPTIONIN AN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ENVIRONMENTHardalaç, NaciyeMaster of Fine Arts in Musical EducationMaster of Fine Arts Thesis: Nevhiz Ercan, Prof.28. 12. 2006This hereby study shall try to show that music education has an indispensableplace in modern education and shall try to determine and prove the correlation relationbetween the fields of the perception of numeric and verbal educated students. It?s aknown fact that music develops all the multiple intelligence fields. This study shallshow the authenticity of the correlation relation between numeric education and musicas well as the similarity of the two for the intelligence development phase. Itsbelieved that similar formations shall occur due to the high level activity occurringduring musical and numerical activities.The study is a descriptive study and has been prepared with ?source crossscreening? method. During the study the audio recordings of numeric and verbalstudents has been gathered and these recordings have been shown in an artificialintelligence environment.The artificial intelligence classification has shown that the musical perceptionof numeric students is better, and the correlation relation between numeric and verbaleducation and music has been determined.
