In this study, AISI 4140 steel was coated using Melonite coating method. After coating, the hardness values of the coated and uncoated AISI 4140 steels were determined by the microhardness tester in the laboratory. Wear performances were determined with the help of the wear tester in the laboratory. The internal structure and wear surfaces of the materials subjected to the wear test were examined in SEM. As a result of the experiments, it was observed that the melonite coated materials increased the wear resistance and the friction coefficients decreased as compared to the uncoated materials. It was also determined that the hardness value of the coated materials increased between two and three times that of the uncoated materials. As a result of the experiments, it was determined that the melonite coated materials could be an alternative to the uncoated materials.
