Abstract (EN)

This study was performed a laboratory scale reverse osmosis membrane test system (GE-Osmonics SEPA CF II) at Chemical Engineering, Depratmant of Ege University and a small scale spiral wound nanofiltration (NF)/reverse osmosis (RO) system in İTOB-OSB Treatment Plant. In this study, the applicability of treatment methods such as NF and RO for reuse of wastewater treated with Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) process. For this purpose, different membranes types and operating conditions were applied for both lab and field studies. The quality of product were analyzed using various analytical methods. In laboratory studies, AG membrane, which is RO membrane, was provided better rejection than other NF membranes when product water quality was examined, although highest permeate flux was obtained with HL membrane. The permeate flux of NF90 membrane was found as higher than BW30 membrane. Furthermore, high-quality water was obtained by NF 90 and BW30 membranes when product water of these membranes was compared with the quality standards. It was observed that permeate flux of the membranes increased with increasing pressure. In hybrid studies of NF+RO the quality of product water was high. In continuous studies, permeate flux increased after washing of the membranes with acid and base.
