ING3 gene expressi̇on and its role at breast cancer

Abstract (EN)

Breast carsinoma is the most common malignancy of women. It is the most common cause of death by cancer after lung cancer. Tumor supressor genes play a role in existence of canser alongside oncogenes. ING gene family was discovered in last decade, there have been detected 5 types of the gene form ING 1 to 5. They have some roles such as regulation of transcription, control of cell cycle, repair of DNA and apoptosis. We aimed to study the expression of ING 3 gene in breast cancers and is there any relation between them due to the fact that there was any studies about ING 3 before. In our study, we enrolled 46 women patients with breast cancer. Median age was 49. The expression of ING 3 in cancer tissue of patients and normal breast tissue and their histological and pathological parameters were assessed. ING 3 gene expression in tumor tissue and normal tissue of 46 patients was studied. Statistically significant differance was found the expression of ING 3 gene between tumoral and normal tissues when it is compared ( p=0.001). Gene expression was found highly in estrogen reseptor positive group according to negative group (p<0.001). Gene expression was found highly in progesteron reseptor positive group according to negative group (p<0.001). The expression of gene was higher in advanced stage ( stage 3-4) compared to early stage( stage 1-2) and it was found statistically slightly significant ( p=0.048). As a result there was not any study of ING 3 gene expression before and we fouded relationship between ING 3 expression and positive hormon reseptors and the advanced stage.
