Abstract (EN)

Following the cold war, terrorist acts in the world have progressively increased. This effect has led to many losses of lives and properties in our country. One of the most damaging methods of terrorists is planting explosives in culverts, which are made for ensuring water flow during the construction of the road in security zones. The aim of thesis is to decrease the explosion load affecting the culverts. In the thesis, the explosive load was applied to the culvert under the enbankment of standard road. With the implemented systems, the damage that would be caused by the same load was investigated. These implementations were determined as laying geotextile felt to the road embankment with 20 cm intervals, placing concrete pipes below concrete pipes and placing concrete pipes above concrete pipes. The financial effect of using these implementations in areas subjected to terrorist acts on the construction cost is minimal. As a results of the implementations, it was observed that the effect of the explosion was reduced by 80% compared to current system used in roads. The study was based on developing systems that are low in economic cost and high in strength.
